Almost every product data statistic in circulation was written rather than measured. These were measured — 37 distributors scored from a universe of 223, against live product pages, using a framework published in full.
Every number on these pages is computed from the dataset at build time, not typed into the prose, so no figure can drift from the measurement behind it. Sample sizes are shown next to every group and groups too small to publish are suppressed. Last measured August 2026.
Measured statistics on product page quality across the largest North American distributors — attribute depth, GTIN coverage, structured data and AI crawler access.
Median measured Digital Readiness Index by distribution sector, archetype and revenue band — which parts of distribution publish machine-readable catalogs and which do not.
Median measured product data readiness grouped by detected commerce platform, CMS and bot wall — and why the platform explains less than vendors suggest.
The dataset is published openly with a citation line so figures can be checked rather than merely repeated. If you cite one, state the sample size with it — it is the part that makes the number mean something.
