Independent commentary · Gartner PIM Magic Quadrant 2026
Gartner named Centric Software a Niche Player in its 2026 Magic Quadrant for Product Information Management Solutions, published 12 October 2026, alongside apollon, Base.com, Equadis, insightsoftware, Pimberly and Plytix. Built for: PXM suite (formerly Contentserv) spanning PIM, DAM, syndication and shelf analytics.
Centric PXM is the former Contentserv, now part of Centric Software, a company best known for PLM. The suite spans PIM, DAM, syndication and digital shelf analytics, with a DPP module. Its natural fit is with buyers whose product data starts upstream in design and development.
Our reading of the report, in our words.
The write-ups name no AI product for Centric, but by our reading of the report it has MCP work shipped or invested.
An MCP server lets an AI agent query the PIM directly. It improves access to the record, not what the record contains: when a field is empty, the agent finds the gap faster. All 16 vendors’ MCP status.
Gartner’s definition has 17 features. We sorted every one by what it does to a product record. These are the three a Centric Software shortlist should weigh hardest.
Images and documents live in the same suite as the product record.
Left over: Someone finds the right images and documents and attaches them.
Shelf analytics is part of the suite, closing the loop from record to listing.
Left over: Reports the listing problem after it has shipped.
The DPP module in Centric PXM.
Left over: Someone finds the composition and safety data and fills it per SKU.
Digital shelf analytics reports a listing problem after it has shipped. An integrated DAM gives assets a home; someone still finds the right image and spec document and attaches it to each SKU.
Gartner notes that Centric’s editions and add-ons make pricing complex, and the roadmap of a PIM inside a PLM company tends to pull upstream. Ask what standalone PXM customers get.
None of this is particular to Centric Software. No feature in Gartner’s definition completes a record; every one stores, moves, routes or measures it. Whichever PIM you choose, someone still has to read the supplier documents and fill the fields.
Your PIM stores the data. Anglera does the work.
Anglera works alongside Centric PXM. It completes each record against supplier documents, with a citation on every value, and writes the result back into Centric PXM. Live in 30 days or less, starting from a flat file.
Gartner named Centric Software a Niche Player in its 2026 Magic Quadrant for Product Information Management Solutions, published 12 October 2026, alongside apollon, Base.com, Equadis, insightsoftware, Pimberly and Plytix. Sixteen vendors were evaluated in total. Gartner places vendors on ability to execute and completeness of vision; the quadrant says where a vendor sits in the market, not whether it fits your catalog.
By our reading of the 2026 report, Centric Software has MCP work shipped or invested, one of eight vendors in that position. The write-ups name no AI product for Centric, but by our reading of the report it has MCP work shipped or invested.
Digital shelf analytics reports a listing problem after it has shipped. An integrated DAM gives assets a home; someone still finds the right image and spec document and attaches it to each SKU. A PIM gives each product a governed home and enforces which fields are required; finding and filling the missing values is a separate job.
No. Anglera is not a PIM and was not evaluated in the report. It works alongside Centric PXM: it completes product records against supplier documents, with a citation on every value, and writes the result back into Centric PXM.
