Independent commentary · Gartner PIM Magic Quadrant 2026
Gartner named Salesforce (Informatica) a Leader in its 2026 Magic Quadrant for Product Information Management Solutions, published 12 October 2026, alongside Akeneo, Inriver, Stibo Systems and Syndigo. Built for: deep data modeling, industry classifications and data-pool connections at enterprise scale.
Informatica Product 360 is built for enterprise-scale modeling: deep data models, industry classifications and connections to data pools. Gartner credits it with data sourcing, ERP integrations and AI-assisted supplier onboarding that suit B2B distributors. Salesforce closed its acquisition of Informatica in November 2025, so a PIM Leader now sits inside a CRM and commerce company.
Our reading of the report, in our words.
CLAIRE, Informatica’s AI engine, plus a Product Experience Agent and AI-assisted supplier onboarding, with a data and AI governance agent on the roadmap. The “agent” in the name doesn’t decide what it does; in our sort your team still supplies the sources and reviews the result.
An MCP server lets an AI agent query the PIM directly. It improves access to the record, not what the record contains: when a field is empty, the agent finds the gap faster. All 16 vendors’ MCP status.
Gartner’s definition has 17 features. We sorted every one by what it does to a product record. These are the three a Salesforce (Informatica) shortlist should weigh hardest.
The deepest models in the category mean the most attributes per category to fill.
Left over: Someone decides which attributes each category needs, and keeps deciding.
Data sourcing and ERP integration are where Gartner credits Product 360 for distributors.
Left over: The supplier file arrives with blank columns; the specs are in a PDF.
AI-assisted onboarding speeds the mapping of supplier files into that model.
Left over: Works when the supplier types it in. Most send a PDF.
A deep data model is a longer list of fields per SKU. Data-pool connections bring in what trading partners publish; the values that only exist in a manufacturer’s spec sheet still have to be read, extracted and filled.
The ownership change adds a planning question. Gartner’s write-up sketches a roadmap toward deeper Salesforce Commerce Cloud integration. If your storefront, ERP or marketplaces run on something else, ask what is committed for them.
None of this is particular to Salesforce (Informatica). No feature in Gartner’s definition completes a record; every one stores, moves, routes or measures it. Whichever PIM you choose, someone still has to read the supplier documents and fill the fields.
Your PIM stores the data. Anglera does the work.
Anglera works alongside Informatica Product 360. It completes each record against supplier documents, with a citation on every value, and writes the result back into Informatica Product 360. Live in 30 days or less, starting from a flat file.
Gartner named Salesforce (Informatica) a Leader in its 2026 Magic Quadrant for Product Information Management Solutions, published 12 October 2026, alongside Akeneo, Inriver, Stibo Systems and Syndigo. Sixteen vendors were evaluated in total. Gartner places vendors on ability to execute and completeness of vision; the quadrant says where a vendor sits in the market, not whether it fits your catalog.
By our reading of the 2026 report, Salesforce (Informatica) has MCP work shipped or invested, one of eight vendors in that position.
A deep data model is a longer list of fields per SKU. Data-pool connections bring in what trading partners publish; the values that only exist in a manufacturer’s spec sheet still have to be read, extracted and filled. A PIM gives each product a governed home and enforces which fields are required; finding and filling the missing values is a separate job.
No. Anglera is not a PIM and was not evaluated in the report. It works alongside Informatica Product 360: it completes product records against supplier documents, with a citation on every value, and writes the result back into Informatica Product 360.
Send us a flat file and we’ll show you the completed version against your own schema.
