Independent commentary · Gartner PIM Magic Quadrant 2026
Gartner named Inriver a Leader in its 2026 Magic Quadrant for Product Information Management Solutions, published 12 October 2026, alongside Akeneo, Salesforce (Informatica), Stibo Systems and Syndigo. Built for: business-user workflows, plus gap detection that turns into projects for the team.
Inriver is built around business-user workflows. Its distinctive move is turning detection into work: Signals finds content gaps across the catalog, and Projects packages them into assignments for the team. The Inspire agent suite sits on top, with natural-language goals on the roadmap.
Our reading of the report, in our words.
The Inspire agent suite, Signals and Projects. In our sort, Signals and Projects is the clearest detect-and-route product in the report: gaps become a work queue rather than a dashboard. Natural-language goals are on the roadmap.
An MCP server lets an AI agent query the PIM directly. It improves access to the record, not what the record contains: when a field is empty, the agent finds the gap faster. All 16 vendors’ MCP status.
Gartner’s definition has 17 features. We sorted every one by what it does to a product record. These are the three a Inriver shortlist should weigh hardest.
Projects is Inriver’s answer to the gap problem, so the workflow layer carries more weight here than in most PIMs.
Left over: A person picks up the task at the other end.
Signals is the gauge that feeds those projects.
Left over: Tells you a record is 38% complete. Does not make it 39%.
Gartner cautions that Inriver has no native supplier onboarding module yet; it is on the roadmap.
Left over: Works when the supplier types it in. Most send a PDF.
Signals tells you which records are short. Projects assigns them. The project still lands on the same people who were filling records before, now with a better-organised queue.
Gartner also cautions that Inriver lacks a native supplier onboarding module for now and lacks industry accelerators, so supplier files and taxonomies such as ETIM or ECLASS are configured and maintained by your team or your integrator.
None of this is particular to Inriver. No feature in Gartner’s definition completes a record; every one stores, moves, routes or measures it. Whichever PIM you choose, someone still has to read the supplier documents and fill the fields.
Your PIM stores the data. Anglera does the work.
Anglera works alongside Inriver. It completes each record against supplier documents, with a citation on every value, and writes the result back into Inriver. Live in 30 days or less, starting from a flat file.
Gartner named Inriver a Leader in its 2026 Magic Quadrant for Product Information Management Solutions, published 12 October 2026, alongside Akeneo, Salesforce (Informatica), Stibo Systems and Syndigo. Sixteen vendors were evaluated in total. Gartner places vendors on ability to execute and completeness of vision; the quadrant says where a vendor sits in the market, not whether it fits your catalog.
By our reading of the 2026 report, Inriver has MCP work shipped or invested, one of eight vendors in that position. The Inspire agent suite, Signals and Projects. In our sort, Signals and Projects is the clearest detect-and-route product in the report: gaps become a work queue rather than a dashboard. Natural-language goals are on the roadmap.
Signals tells you which records are short. Projects assigns them. The project still lands on the same people who were filling records before, now with a better-organised queue. A PIM gives each product a governed home and enforces which fields are required; finding and filling the missing values is a separate job.
No. Anglera is not a PIM and was not evaluated in the report. It works alongside Inriver: it completes product records against supplier documents, with a citation on every value, and writes the result back into Inriver.
Send us a flat file and we’ll show you the completed version against your own schema.
